FDRIO offers new professional designations, exciting conference and new opportunities for OAMFT members

Marriage and family therapists are a big part of family dispute resolution. With the increase in people unrepresented in court, more separating couples are seeking out of court dispute resolution.

FDRIO, Ontario’s new organization for family dispute resolution professionals is focused on building capacity and expertise in the FDR field. Its progressive professional designations, monthly webinars, diverse membership, exciting conferences and other professional events offer much for OAMFT members.


Here are upcoming events that OAMFT members may want to know about:


  1. 2017 Family Dispute Resolution Conference, November 20 & 21, 2017
    This year, the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO) has paired up with Family Mediation Canada (FMC) to offer conference delegates a bigger and better conference, with more networking and learning opportunities.For the full conference program, click here.

  1. Family Dispute Resolution Week, November 20 to 24, 2017
    FDR Week will have events for both family dispute professionals and the general public in Toronto, Oshawa, Newmarket, Barrie, Ottawa, Hamilton, and other cities. Get involved, organize and join! Visit the FDRweek section of the FDRIO website for more info.
  1. A mobile Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) will be set up at the Rotunda at Toronto City Hall for the full week, providing FREE public information about dispute resolution and legal advice options. There will also be a number of public forums on various aspects of family dispute resolution.
