Somatic Experiencing ® Trauma Training for Professionals

The Trauma Healing Centre of London is pleased to invite you to Somatic Experiencing ® Trauma Training for Professionals Beginning 1 Sept 8-11, 2017, which will be held in London, ON! Please share and/or forward this information to interested colleagues.

The SE® Trauma Training for Professionals, offered in over 15 countries around the world, provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively treat PTSD in a wide variety of clinical and educational settings.  Faculty member, Berns Galloway, with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute will be in London ON to provide training for the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) designation.

Somatic Experiencing was pioneered by Peter A. Levine, Ph.D. who holds doctorate degrees in both Medical Biophysics and in Psychology. Dr. Levine was also a stress consultant for NASA during the development of the Space Shuttle.  For over 40 years, he has dedicated his career to the scientific study of how to help human beings move though and renegotiate overwhelming life events without feeling overwhelmed in the process.
Somatic Experiencing, steeped in neuroscience, works with nervous system conditioning in the wake of traumatic stress. Trauma responses and trauma healing are rooted in the failure of the biology to make fluid phase transitions out of and between emergency states of fight, flight and freeze. Recognizing the inherent tendency toward self-reorganization, people can heal from their traumas once they learn this natural language of the body. The result is a return to aliveness, instinct, and connection to life in the here-and-now.
